Today’s story is about the mattress that could not be cleaned.

A while  back, I was watching a documentary on a used mattress company that claimed that their company thoroughly disinfected all of their mattresses prior to using them. The scary thing was, people were coming home with mattresses that were infected with bed bugs or tainted with blood or semen, Now if that makes your skin crawl, you should have seen the next clip; in it, they showed a worker who told them that they were sanitizing the mattress. In reality, they were just sprinkling some crystals on it, and calling it “done”. In their hearts, did those workers really think that there was some magic power to a dusting of crystals? Over part of the surface of a mattress? Probably not, but that’s what they were instructed to do.

It makes me think of people today; they think that because they follow the required mandates (coughing in elbow, not shaking hands, etc) that they are doing all they can to protect themselves. And they don’t wear masks, and at work they stand by one another because they are an “essential” service. I guess in their hearts, people reason that even though they brush up next to people when reaching for groceries, that they must be protected because they are following the minimum.

One of the thing that annoys me most is people who claim that using hand sanitizers on surfaces is protecting them against the Corona Virus (CoVid 19). And it’s really sad, because if they just knew what to use, they could be confident AND protected.

I think it’s common in this age of worry and panic to try to assure our hearts that what we are using is, “okay” or “good enough”.  And that is probably better than nothing, especially if you are not able to order what you need.  The good news is, here at Ultra-Chem we are still taking orders for our quaternary disinfectant, Sani-quat.

Brute

 

In my last post, I talked about how I felt like a Janitor in a drum, (or should I say, “janitorial supply guy” in a drum) here in my little cubicle. But today, I’d like to talk to you about a product I sell called “Brute in a drum,” and yes, that is really it’s name.

Ever since the “Green Clean” mania hit our culture, Chemicals seem to have a bum rap.
